Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq claims that he could have easily dominated current number 1 ODI ranked bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

In an interview with Yousaf Anjum, Razzaq said that he has faced better bowlers than Bumrah during his international career.

After having faced world class bowlers in my time, I would have had no problem against a bowler like Bumrah. Pressure would have been on him. I have played against great bowlers like Glenn Mcgrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him.

He then explained why Bumrah is devastating in modern cricket.

I would add that Bumrah is doing very well and has improved a lot. He has an awkward action and hits the seam perfectly which is why he is effective.

Bumrah has incredible figures on the international stage with 62 wickets in 12 Test matches, 103 in 58 ODIs, and 51 in 48 T20Is.

Speaking about Pakistan’s bowling performance in the recently concluded Test series against Australia, Razzaq said:

The eye to pick the right talent is missing. You can’t select a player for Test cricket based on just few performances or because Naseem Shah troubled Azhar Ali in the nets. It can destroy a cricketer’s career if you select him before he deserves a chance. That’s why players like Hasan Ali are nowhere to be seen and we struggled in Australia.

He further added that he would love to take up a coaching position with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as he loves the idea of training and grooming the future generation.
