Indian cricketing authorities have crossed all limits to please the nationalistic and Hindu supremacist leadership of Modi-led BJP by changing the name of a cricket ground merely because it was named after a Muslim King.

The Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi has now been renamed after India’s former Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, who died recently on August 24 at the age of 66. The BJP leader enjoyed the portfolio of Finance Ministry during Narendra Modi’s first term in power from 2014-19.

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has taken the decision to rename the iconic stadium as Arun Jaitley Stadium after the association’s former president.

DDCA president, Rajat Sharma told a local news outlet gave a unique explanation for the move:

We are not changing the name. It will remain Feroz Shah Kotla ground. It will also be called Arun Jaitley Stadium. It is an addition to that (old name).
