The registration of the vaccine will be reviewed during the ongoing meeting of the registration board at the Ministry of National Health which is expected to remain in session until 15 January. The DRAP registration board is likely to approve the Sinopharm vaccine from China during the same session.
The AstraZeneca vaccine has already been approved by the British Medicine & Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority. As per clinical reports, it is effective for all age groups and can be stored in refrigerators.

With giant pharmaceutical companies already having initiated the first phase for the rollout of their vaccines, mostly moderate economies like Pakistan will have to wait for the developed countries to get it first.
Pakistan is currently running Phase-III clinical trials for the CanSino Biologics vaccine, which is another Chinese product that has been developed under the supervision of the National Institute of Health (NIH).
