Pakistani captain, Babar Azam, has disregarded speculation posed by veteran all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, who remarked that the current team captain doesn’t have any control over team selection.

Malik’s comments came in ringing after Pakistan’s shocking defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe when the two sides met in the second T20I at Harare last week.

In a discussion with reporters, Babar urged for the underlined “debate to end now. The same thing is repeated in every press conference that I don’t have any control over selection. You can see on the field that I handle everything. I decide the playing XI. Management gives their input. I know my responsibilities as a captain”.

In response to Malik’s claim that the team needs a new coach, Azam replied that he doesn’t have any issues with the current Head Coach, Misbah ul Haq. “I don’t have any problem with the coach. This is the domain of PCB. Team management is fully supporting every player, so I am happy”, he added.
