The car spotted in the photos is the same car that was found doing test runs on the roads of Islamabad a couple of months ago. The car is a 2nd and latest generation version that made its international debut at the Beijing Auto Show back in April 2018.

Since then, the rumors of the car’s debut in Pakistan have been circulating, but the latest reports suggest that Changan has formed an alliance with Master Motors and should be introducing the car in the Pakistani Market sometime soon.

The car in the photos is a compact sedan that offers a 1.4 liter 4-cylinder engine with Dual-Variable Valve Timing Technology (DVVT ) that delivers 104 horsepower or a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with DVVT technology that makes 107 horsepower. Both engines can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed Dual Clutch Automatic transmission.

Other performance features include Antilock Breaking Systems (ABS) with Electronic Break-force Distribution (EBD) technology, cruise control, hill-start assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear-view camera, tire pressure monitoring system Among other features. In the interior, the car offers a modern infotainment system with the latest InCall intelligent interconnect system.

All the new automakers that have come or are yet to arrive in Pakistan, are offering cars that have a very limited market size because they’re all priced around or mostly over the 3 million Rupee mark.

Changan on the other hand, has arguably made a rather smart decision by coming in with a compact sedan, as in this segment, the number of prospective buyers is huge and the competition isn’t all too tough. Sure, the other 2 compact sedans, namely, the Honda City and the Toyota Yaris are both well-recognized names, but the former is 2 generations old and the latter apparently has some serious quality control issues, as revealed in a recent social media post shared by a disappointed buyer.

Furthermore, their weakest point is perhaps their price, as both cars now start from around 2.5 million Rupees. Therefore, given the right price, a decent number of features, strong build quality and reliability, Changan could radically change the Pakistani Automotive Landscape with their new Alsvin Sedan.
