There have been calls in the England camp about the ‘consistency’ of the officiating in the match. England believes that the Indian umpires have been too harsh towards them, and especially the third umpire has made his decisions without looking at the incident for a substantial time.
The England captain, Joe Root, and coach, Chris Silverwood, took the matter into their own hands and approached the match referee, Javagal Srinath, regarding the matter of poor officiating.
There have been two separate incidents that have gone against England, and they feel that the decisions should have gone the other way around.
The first incident occurred when Ben Stokes was adjudged to have grounded the catch of Shubman Gill, while the second incident was the stumping of Rohit Sharma, which was given not out as well.

England camp believes that the umpire was not provided with various angles, and he was too quick in giving his decision. Joe Root could be heard on the stump mic as well, baffled that the umpire did not take a second look.
Earlier, the umpire looked at several angles to judge the stumping of Jack Leach. England team believes that the umpire has to be consistent with his procedure to reach a conclusion.
England is currently on the tour of India with the Test series tied at 1-1. The third match is currently being played at the new Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ironically the stadium has now been renamed Narendra Modi Stadium.
As usual, the pitch has been extremely spin-friendly, and England was bowled out for 112 in the first innings. However, they did make a comeback with the ball, dismissing India for 145, but the Test match seems to be heading to the conclusion on only the second day.
