As a travel and tourism marketplace, over the years FindMyAdventure has worked with hundreds of local tour operators, porters, and guides, most of whom depend on daily wages to make ends meet. Although this pandemic has crippled the tourism industry as a whole, these people have been impacted the most.

The spread of COVID-19 has had an adverse impact on industries, businesses, small-scale service providers and everyone in between. Not only has it brought countless companies to an operational standstill, but it also threatens the very livelihood of daily wage workers across the country.

Feeling a sense of responsibility towards helping them during their time of need, FindMyAdventure’s Guide Fund has been set up in collaboration with Rizq to offer some much-needed relief to the families of guides and porters across Pakistan. The effort has already raised PKR 4,000,000, with nearly half the amount coming from the donations collected by the LUMS Adventure Society. 

The donations are being distributed through cash disbursements to deserving guides and porters via EasyPaisa directly to their CNICs, without the involvement of any third-party or intermediaries. A list of all the beneficiaries with their CNICs and addresses can also be provided to donors on their request.

We’re all struggling to make sense of this situation, trying our best to mitigate losses and come up with contingency plans, but we also need to remind ourselves to take out time to think about other people, especially those who now depend upon the rest of us for their survival.
