The Pakistan bowling attack spearhead, Mohammed Amir, is again hoping to etch his name at the historic Lord’s honor board when Pakistan meet England later this month.

The left-arm pacer spoke to a media outlet the day after Pakistan registered their win against Ireland and spoke at length regarding the two-Test match series against England.

He said:

Our team this time is very young but they are very keen to play at Lords and are very excited. Everyone wants to get their name on the honour board and I am also looking for it the second time.

5wk bowling

Muhammad Amir registered his name on the board in 2010 after picking up 6 wickets for just 86 runs

Other Pakistanis who are mentioned on the board include Mudassir Nazar, Waqar Younis and Mushtaq Ahmed.

Speaking about his return after a lengthy ban of 5-years, Amir said that the lack of practice during his ban has impacted his game a lot. He said that his lack of swing is primarily because of the same reason.

The one main reason because I am coming back after five years and since then cricket has changed completely as it is much faster and… the wickets are little bit flat now, as well.

In the five years period, I didn’t do training no bowling, so it is difficult. But I am still trying to swing the ball, because when you are swinging the ball you will get wickets.

During the interview, Amir gave a special shoutout to Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq and current skipper Sarfraz Ahmed for their continuous support throughout his rough patch. He said that these three senior players have helped him the most since his return.
