The government of Pakistan has directed pregnant women to refrain from getting the coronavirus vaccination due to safety concerns.
According to the details, the directives are applicable to all the currently available vaccines in Pakistan including Sinopharm, CanSinoBio, Sinovac, and Sputnik V.

This is because limited tests have been performed on expectant mothers, and there is insufficient data to determine if the vaccines are safe for them or not.
Officials from the Ministry of Health have also stated that not enough data is available from coronavirus vaccine trials on pregnant women.

Pakistan has also begun the coronavirus vaccination registration process for people above the age of 40, and has set up walk-in vaccination facilities for people aged 50 and above.
Pakistan is using the Chinese vaccine to officially vaccinate people aged 50 years and above, while the Russian vaccine Sputnik V is being purchased by private companies to be administered to citizens.
