According to multiple reports, Hyundai Nishat Motors Private limited (HNMPL) is gearing up for the launch of their ‘Hyundai H-100 Porter’ next week. According to sources the launch ceremony, booking date, and price announcement will take place during the event thought to be on 2 December 2019 in Lahore.

As per the information available, the H-100 has a 2.6L Euro II diesel engine coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and has a towing weight capacity of 1.0 ton. It is pertinent to point out that it will first be a locally produced pickup that will offer a four-year or 100,000 km warranty.

The H-100 is all set to be produced at Hyundai’s local manufacturing plant in Faisalabad, this will push the pickup’s indigenization to 20%. Tatsuya Sato, HNMPL had said previously that the company hoped to increase localization to 45% over the next 5 years.

Due to the devaluation of the rupee, the localization can help the market be more sustainable and in this regards the COO had said: Higher indigenization in vehicles can stabilize on which we are focusing more.

The HNMPL is a collaboration between Pakistan’s Nishat Group, Japan’s Sojitz Corporation, and Pakistan’s Millat Tractors Limited, and is partnering with Korea’s Hyundai Motors to become an industry leader in the automobile market in Pakistan.
