Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested negative for COVID-19 and has assumed office after full recovery.

PM Imran had returned a positive test for the virus on March 20, few days after he was administered with the first dose of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine, Sinopharm.

Khan had isolated himself immediately after contracting the virus. Special Assistant to PM on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan, had announced the news on Twitter, saying that the premier has mild symptoms and will hopefully recover soon. A day later, the First Lady, Bushra Bibi, also tested positive for the deadly virus.

As per sources within the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier was tested again on Tuesday morning under the supervision of Dr. Faisal Sultan. Reports suggest that the PM has tested negative for the virus and has resumed his office after nearly ten days.

The third wave of coronavirus is running rampant in the country.
