Pakistan Yesterday reported 1,013 new coronavirus cases in the country, the lowest daily toll Since May 2nd, 2020 or in around 80 days.

Total numbers of tests yesterday stood at around 18K, with a test to positive case ratio of just 5.70%. Lower test to case ratio (ideally around 2-4%) means sufficient number of people are being tested. However, since not many people are getting infected, there are lower number of people showing up at testing facilities.

Number of ICU admissions across country also dropped to 1,481, down from 1,552 yesterday.

Of new cases, more than half or 546 cases (lowest since May 25th) were reported from Sindh while Punjab registered 253 new cases in 24 hours (lowest since April 29th).

Balochistan added just 5 new cases, its lowest daily toll since April 13th, 2020. Similarly Islamabad and KP reported 26 (lowest since May 26th) and 157 (lowest since May 2nd) cases respectively.

Total number of recoveries reached 208,030 or 78.18% of all positive cases. Number of active cases dropped down to to just 52,427, a level we previously had on June 3rd, 2020.
