Both the Akmal brothers have failed their fitness tests while the disgraced former captain Salman Butt stormed out during his test, reports confirmed.

Middle-order batsman Umar Akmal might be in more trouble than others as he crossed ethical boundaries during his fitness test. As reported earlier, Akmal exposed himself during the fitness test and a complaint against him has been lodged.

The Akmal brothers both failed their respective fitness tests by ‘significant margins’, with Umar facing a possible ban for his inappropriate behavior.

It is worth mentioning that Kamran Akmal rescheduled his fitness twice before finally taking one and failing in all departments, the sources confirmed.

Salman Butt, on the other hand, stormed out after he was not allowed to reschedule his fitness test.

All three players were in top form during the Quaid-e-Azam trophy as Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt finished in top-three highest scorers while Umar Akmal smashed 218 in the final to claim the man of the match award.

According to sources, PCB is considering to fine them and also will be eliminated from the National ODI tournament due to not passing the tests.

It must be noted that they have not signed the provincial central contracts for which the inquiry is also under consideration too. Provincial team managers and coaches have also asked PCB to clarify the policy on the provincial contract issues.

However, it remains to be seen how Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will approach their cases as the board has constantly emphasized higher fitness levels.
