Wicket-keeper batsman, Kamran Akmal has been constantly knocking on the doors of international cricket ever since he got out of favors with the selectors.
Whether its batting or wicket-keeping, the 37-year-old has been performing brilliantly well in the domestic circuit, no matter the format.
The eldest of Akmal brothers has added another record to his name by completing 900 career dismissals in first-class cricket, becoming the first-ever Asian to achieve the feat. It is a significant achievement considering Asia has produced a number of world-class wicket-keepers including Kumar Sangakkara, MS Dhoni, Moin Khan, and Rashid Latif, etc.
Akmal crossed the 900 dismissals mark with 8 catches behind the stumps against Sindh in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He currently stands at 906 dismissals – 842 catches and 64 stumpings – from 240 matches.

While some may argue that there’s no account for the number of catches he’s dropped, for now Kamran wants everyone to remember him by his good records.
The overall list of most dismissals is topped by England’s Bob Taylor with 1647 scalps. Kamran Akmal is placed at the 33rd spot in the list of most dismissals by a wicket-keeper.
