Motorola’s smartphone lineup keeps getting bigger and bigger. On an event on 24th October, it unveiled four new handsets: the Motorola One Macro, Moto G8 Plus, Moto G8 Play, and the Moto E6 Play.
The moto G8 Plus is the latest G-series device. All the previous devices in the G-series are some of the best budget smartphones money can buy. The Moto E6 Play, on the other hand, is the lower end E-series smartphone with entry-level specifications.
Aesthetically, the smartphone does not feature anything that we haven’t seen before. It has the typical Motorola mono-tone back with the Moto logo cum fingerprint sensor in the center. The triple sensor rear camera is vertically aligned to the top left. It is available in Cosmic Blue and Crystal Pink colors.
Moto G8 Plus is built around a 6.3-inch display with FHD+ (1080p) resolution and a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera.
Internally, the mid-ranger features a Snapdragon 665 SoC joined by 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage that can be expanded via a memory card.
On the software front, Moto G8 Plus runs on Android 9.0 Pie with minor customizations from Motorola.
Camera-wise, the smartphone features some impressive specifications. It comes with a triple sensor rear camera with a 48 MP main sensor, a 5MP depth sensor following the 16MP ultrawide shooter. It also has a laser autofocus module.
For selfies, Moto G8 Plus comes with an impressive 25 MP single shooter sitting behind an f/2.0 lens.
This G-series smartphone is powered by a 4000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. It will be available for sale by 28th October at a €269 price tag.
The smartphone pretty much looks like its predecessor launched earlier this year. The only difference is the added flash beside the single sensor rear camera. It will be available in Ocean Blue and Back colors.
It features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ (720p) resolution, an 18:9 aspect ratio, and 293 PPI pixel density.
As for the innards, the smartphone is powered by Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6739 accompanied by 2GB RAM and 32 GB onboard storage. The storage can be expanded via a dedicated memory card slot.
It comes with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
Since this is an entry-level smartphone, it does not feature exciting camera specifications. At the back, it comes with a single 13 MP sensor. For selfies, the camera sports a 5 MP camera.
This entry-level smartphone is driven by a 3000 mAh battery that charges over old school MicroUSB.
The smartphone will be available for sale in November at a €109 price tag.
