NED University of Engineering and Technology (NEDUET) founded in 1921 will complete its 100 years this year.
The university previously known as the Prince of Wales Engineering College is one of the oldest institutions in Pakistan for teaching and producing engineering graduates.
Currently, the university has employed over 540 academics, of which over 200 have doctorate degrees and the remaining are pursuing Ph.D. degrees.

Students can opt from 34 undergraduate, over 50 masters, and 21 Ph.D. programs offered by the varsity.
The NEDUET Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, revealed that the foundation stone of the college was laid to mark the visit by the Prince of Wales in 1921.
“A British officer, Jackson, was the most dedicated person who used all possible resources to establish the college,” Dr. Lodi said.

“The college was initially set up in four blocks of buildings and two sheds. The main block was named Seth Fatehchand Dewandas Khilnani Hall, the block housing, powerhouse, electrical and hydraulics laboratories, and workshops were named after Bai Puribai and Bacharbai”.
The college was affiliated with Bombay University till partition, following which it came under the jurisdiction of the Sindh government. It was renamed NED Government Engineering College and affiliated to the University of Sindh.
