After releasing the Nubia Red Magic 3 in May this year, ZTE has decided to launch a slightly better version of the gaming phone.
This new smartphone, dubbed Nubia Red Magic 3S, comes with better specifications, as compared to its predecessor and improves the overall gaming experience.
Visually, the smartphone features the exact same design elements as its predecessor, except the air intake grill now has a Y-shaped form. A hexagonal fingerprint sensor is mounted at the back beneath the newly designed air vent.
Display-wise, the Nubia Red Magic 3S features a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution that translates to 1080 x 2340 resolution. The display features a 90 Hz refresh rate, 388 ppi pixel density and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
Nubia Red Magic 3S comes with Snapdragon 855+ alongside 8/12 GB RAM and 256 GB built-in storage. Software-wise, the smartphone runs on Redmagic 2.0 skinned Android 9.0 Pie.
Nubia claims that the smartphone comes with an improved cooling solution with the fan system and heat pipe combined. This will not only provide better cooling but will also reduce the CPU temperature by 18 degrees.
At the sides, Nubia has provided touch-sensitive triggers which can be remapped according to the games you play.
The smartphone features single sensor cameras at both the front and the back. The rear camera features a 48 MP Sony sensor and the selfie camera is a 16 MP unit.
Photography isn’t the focus on gaming phones so ZTE didn’t bother adding anything special to the Red Magic 3S.
Like its predecessor, the smartphone is fueled by a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 27W fast charging.
Currently, the smartphone is up for pre-orders and will be available at the end of September. The 8/128GB version is priced at $419 while the top of the line variant with 12 GB RAM will cost $531.
