Wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan scored a brilliant century and continued his fine form with the bat in the second innings of the second Test match between Pakistan and South Africa. This was Rizwan’s first century in Test cricket, having scored six half-centuries in 12 matches prior to this.

Rizwan is currently one of the finest wicket-keepers in world cricket and has the best batting average amongst the wicket-keepers since 2018. Rizwan made his Test debut in 2016 but did not establish himself as the regular wicket-keeper of the side until 2019. Since then, Rizwan has made the position his own and has put in substantial contributions for the team.

Rizwan averages 46.31 since 2018 and has scored 741 runs in 18 innings. No other wicket-keeper averages more with the bat than Rizwan during this time period. Rizwan’s career average is healthy as well, he averages 44.35 in 20 innings.

India’s Rishabh Pant is second on the list and closely follows Rizwan with an average of 45.34 since 2018. Kiwi BJ Watling, England’s Jos Buttler, West Indies’ Shane Dowrich, and South Africa’s Quinton De Kock make up the top six in the list.
