The Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought an official response from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) regarding a petition against controversial TikTok videos broadcast on a private TV channel.
A two-judge panel comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Amjad Ali Sehto of the SHC heard the petitioner Bisma Naureen’s complaint against the TV channel that had broadcast the allegedly objectionable TikTok videos.

As per the official minutes of the court session, the petitioner had argued that vulgar videos should not be telecast because they negatively impact children, and particularly those who struggle with their studies.
The petitioner asked for a ban on the screening of such videos and requested the court to have the issue supervised by relevant regulators.
