Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to remove the top officials of the Competition Commission Pakistan (CCP) over alleged corruption. The decision is in line with recommendations made in the sugar and wheat crisis report.

Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdaus Ashiq Awan, revealed this in a press briefing on Tuesday.

She said that the premier aims to restructure and revive the commission, as suggested in the report, prepared by the Director-General (DG) Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wajid Zia.

He has further directed to hold CCP officials responsible for ‘match-fixing’ with mill owners, giving them undue favors.
