Pakistan has approached China for a continued supply of the COVID-19 vaccine amidst the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi spoke on the telephone with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and highlighted Pakistan’s vaccination plan to control the spread of the pandemic. They also discussed China’s plan to supply another consignment of the vaccine to Pakistan during March and April.

Wang Yi reiterated China’s support for its all-weather friend and strategic partner in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Minister Qureshi thanked China for its gift of 1.5 million doses of the vaccine and said that it had played an essential role in inoculating local healthcare workers and senior citizens, and has protected precious human lives.
