The 13th edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February 2020.

Two-time champions, Pakistan Under 19’s squad for the 16-team tournament has been announced and wicket-keeper batsman, Rohail Nazir, will captain the Men in Green at the mega event.

Prodigy pacer, Naseem Shah, has also been included in the squad with other prominent names like Haider Ali, who will be the vice-captain for the tournament, Mohammad Haris and Abbas Afridi.

Pakistan Under 19 is placed in Group C along with Bangladesh, Scotland, and Zimbabwe. Pakistan’s first fixture is against Scotland Under 19 at Potchefstroom on 19th January.

The selectors consider Mohammad Shahzad as a potential replacement for Abdul Razzaq while the remaining pacers in the team are also reportedly capable of bowling at over 140kph just like Naseem Shah.

Each team will play three matches in the group stage with the top 2 teams progressing to the Super League while the bottom 2 will play in the Plate League.
