Punjab government has decided to decrease the syllabus of all subjects for all classes for the academic year 2021.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Textbook Board, the syllabus for all subjects has been truncated by 40 to 50%.

Only pertinent topics would be the part of the syllabus which has been devised keeping in view that the next academic year will span over just 6 months– September to February– due to the Coronavirus outbreak and subsequent disruption of the academic process.

The academic process is set to resume all across the country from 15 September as announced previously by the Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood.

All provinces have been tasked to devise strict Coronavirus SOPs to ensure the smooth reopening of educational institutes from 15 September.

In this regard, the School Education Department (SED) Punjab has recently finalized the COVID-19 SOPs for reopening schools across the province to ensure the safety of both students and staff members.

Under the SOPs, only 20 students will be permitted to sit in one classroom while only 2 students will be allowed to share a desk along with checking the body temperature of everyone before allowing them to enter the school premises, ensuring the availability of hand sanitizers, and prohibition of all sorts of functions, ceremonies, and breaks.
