Punjab’s Minister for Finance, Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, announced on Thursday that the provincial government is constructing three-marla houses for low-income people on semi-rural areas on land belonging to the government as identified by the Board of Revenue.

The minister presided over the 54th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Finance and Development at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and said that the Government of Punjab is giving the homeless an opportunity to own private houses on easy installments.
The provincial government has collaborated with the New Pakistan Housing & Development Authority (NAPHDA), the Bank of Punjab (BoP), and other banks to construct these affordable houses.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mian Aslam Iqbal; the Advisor to the Chief Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. Salman Shah; the Chief Secretary, M. Jawad Rafique; the Chairman P&D Board, Abdullah Sumbal; the Secretary Finance, Iftikhar Ali Sahoo; and the secretaries of the other concerned departments.
