Realme and Redmi are head-to-head when it comes to releasing smartphones with newer technologies.
Redmi Note 8, due launch on 29th August, was supposed to be the first smartphone to release with a 64 MP camera. However, Realme held a special event today where it revealed the Realme XT beating Redmi to the punch.
Design-wise, the smartphone looks a lot like the recently launched Realme 5 Pro. At the back, Realme has gone with a 3D curved glass design which changes colors when viewed from different angles. The quad-sensor rear camera is vertically aligned on the top left.
Based on what was showcased in the event, the smartphone will come in two colors, snow white and Blue with a gradient.
At the front, the smartphone features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a dewdrop notch, featuring full HD+ (1080p) resolution. The display comes with thin bezels and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Just like the Realme 5 Pro, the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 712 paired with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB built-in storage.
For a better gaming experience, the smartphone comes with HyperBoost 2.0 which increases touch response time by 16.2% and improves frame stability while gaming by 38%.
Software-wise, Realme XT runs on ColorOS 6 on top of Android 9.0 Pie.
Moving on to the key selling feature of this smartphone, the quad sensor rear camera on the Realme XT is equipped with a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 lens followed by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor.
It uses a 16MP front camera for selfies.
The smartphone is fueled by a 4000 mAh battery backed by Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging. Realme hasn’t announced the official price yet.
The expected launch date is September 4th, we’ll keep you posted about the Realme XT.
