In the first quarter of this year, Xiaomi turned its Redmi lineup of smartphones into a separate sub-brand. Since then, Redmi is filling its cap with a variety of smartphones and smartphone accessories.
With the same agenda, Redmi recently launched two high capacity power banks in the Chinese market.
Both the power banks come with two input (micro USB and Type-C) and two output ports and a power button. Following Xiaomi’s design pattern, Redmi has followed the minimalistic approach while deciding the aesthetics of both the power banks.
Among both the power banks, the 10,000 mAh Redmi power bank is the basic version. It does not support fast charging and has a maximum 5V 2.1 A power rating for the input port. It measures 150.5 x 73.6 x 15.1mm.
As for the output port, the maximum power rating is 5.1V 2.4A. The power bank can charge Redmi Note 7 1.75 times, the Mi 9 2.4 times, the Redmi K20 1.75 times, and the iPhone XS 2.3 times.
The device also comes with protections like low voltage and reset function. It can also power small items like portable fans and LED lamps and gadgets like the Mi Band or headphones. The gadget is available for sale in china for $9.
This power bank, as compared to the 10,000 mAh power bank, is twice as thick at 27.3mm but the length and width are the same. It also features 18W fast charging. In terms of speed, both the outputs support different charging speeds.
As for input, it supports 5V 2A, 9V 2.1A, and 12V 1.5A charging. The 20,000 mAh power bank can charge the Mi 9 5.3 times, the Redmi K20 3.5 times, Redmi Note 7 3.5 times, and the iPhone XS 4.8 times.
It will go sale in China on the 23rd of July at a price tag of $15.
