Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is known to offer great value for money with each new generation bringing spec upgrades and things are no different this year. The upcoming Redmi Note 10 is going to be the first phone in the lineup to bring 5G, an OLED display, and an even faster chipset.
The device was recently certified by TENAA which revealed both NSA and SA 5G support as well as the usual LTE and older connections. It will swap out the LCD panel for a 6.57” FHD+ OLED display for the first time ever. The punch-hole cutout will be replaced by a standard teardrop notch with a 16MP front camera.
In terms of appearance, it is expected to look similar to the Redmi Note 9.
The TENAA listing doesn’t reveal the chipset, but earlier leaks from Weibo suggest that it will house MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC which should be a decent upgrade over the Redmi Note 9. The CPU configuration is unknown, but the high-performance chip will be clocked at 2.6GHz. It will feature 6GB RAM and 64GB UFS 2.1 with options to go up to 8GB/256GB.
The main shooter in the primary camera setup is expected to be a 48MP lens just like the Redmi Note 9. However, this time it is only going to be a triple camera unit instead of four, in addition to a 4,420 mAh battery (down from 5,000 mAh) with 22.5W fast charging.
The Mediatek Dimensity 820 chip will be officially unveiled on May 18 and we expect to hear more on the Redmi Note 10 soon afterward, so stay tuned.
