Wicketkeeper and opening batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, alongside leg-spinner, Usman Qadir, discussed the team’s disappointing run of play against Zimbabwe in the first T20I, despite clinching a narrow victory over the hosts in Harare.
Although both Rizwan and Qadir played exceptionally well to help the team draw first blood in the T20I series, both players blamed the conditions of the field for the team’s inconsistent display throughout the game.
“There are very different conditions as compared to South Africa. We are trying to adapt and hopefully will make a good comeback in the next match,” said Qadir post-match.
In terms of adaptability and future performance, Rizwan claimed that ” you would see a different Pakistan batting in the second T20I mainly because we have now seen the nature of the wicket and know well what is required in these conditions”.

Pakistan scored a meager 149 in 20 overs against a rejuvenated Zimbabwe bowling lineup that looked almost certain at one point to not allow Pakistan to go beyond 140. With all the hiccups, Pakistan won in the end by 11 runs.
The second T20I will be played at the same venue on Friday.
