Pakistan wicket-keeper, Mohammad Rizwan, became the second Pakistan player to hit centuries in all three formats after his magnificent innings against South Africa in the first T20I. Ahmed Shehzad was the first Pakistani to achieve the feat.

Mohammad Rizwan scored his first Test century against South Africa in the second Test match last week, and despite a format change, he continued his rich vein of form. He scored 104* off 67 deliveries as Pakistan defeated South Africa by 3 runs.

Rizwan stole the show in the first T20I for his impressive batting and his exceptional glove-work behind the stumps. South African commentator, Daryl Cullinan, was left in awe of his performances and called him the best wicket-keeper batsman in the world.

His innings included 7 sixes, the most by a Pakistani batsman in T20Is. The previous best was 6 sixes Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez against Bangladesh and England respectively.

His century is the highest individual score in T20Is for a Pakistani wicket-keeper, overtaking Sarfaraz Ahmed, who scored 89* against Scotland in 2018. Rizwan has cemented his position as the wicket-keeper of the side in all three formats, and chances of Sarfaraz Ahmed making a comeback to the side look bleak.

Rizwan is the second wicket-keeper batsman after the former New Zealand wicket-keeper, Brendon McCullum, to score centuries in all three formats as the designated wicket-keeper. Overall, he became the fifth wicket-keeper batsman to score a century in T20Is.

Rizwan will look to continue his good form in the second T20I, scheduled to be played on 13 February at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Pakistan leads the three-match series 1-0.
