Rumors related to Samsung’s flagship phablet series, the Galaxy Note 20, started pouring in as early as six months ahead of its launch. Last month, a famous tipster, Max Weinbach, leaked a couple of design and display related specifications of the series.
This time around, Ross Young, founder, and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), via his official twitter account, has leaked information about the display for the upcoming phones.
The tweet details that the vanilla Note 20 is expected to feature a 6.42-inch display, up from 6.3-inch in Note 10, with 2345 x 1080 resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, up from 19:9 and a similar 401 PPI pixel density.
Young also unveiled that the series will come with a 120 Hz refresh rate, which is not a surprise. To optimize battery consumption, Samsung has used a Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) display that uses low power. Hence, the smartphone is expected to provide better battery life even at the 120 Hz refresh rate mode.
Note 20 Display Leak:
Note 20 will grow from 6.3" on the 10 to 6.42" on the Note 20. Resolution will increase slightly to 2345 x 1084, 404 PPI, 19.5:9 aspect ratio. 120Hz with LTPO, variable refresh, so lower power with 120Hz, great for always on mode. #GalaxyNote20— Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) May 11, 2020
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20+, according to the tweet, will sport a bigger 6.87-inch display, 3096 x 1444 pixels resolution, 49PPIpi pixel density, and 19.3:9 aspect ratio. All smartphones in the series will come with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Note 20+ Display Leak
Note 20+ will grow from 6.8" to 6.87", resolution will increase to 3096 x 1444 resulting in a 497 PPI, 19.3:9 aspect ratio. It will also have 120Hz refresh with LTPO, lowest power implementation of 120Hz due to variable refresh. #GalaxyNote20+— Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) May 11, 2020
Lastly, Ross unveiled that the Korean tech giant has ditched the ultra model. This may be attributed to the lower than expected sales of the S20 Ultra or the eye-watering price tag.
However, we will get to see the infamous Galaxy Fold’s successor, i.e., Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 launch with the Note 20 series.
No Galaxy Note Ultra model, but the Galaxy Fold 2 will be your Ultra. #GalaxyNote
