A fundraiser campaign has been launched by Shoaib Malik’s organization — ibleedgreen.org — to support the national champion wrestler Inam Butt and help him represent Pakistan in 2020 Olympics to be held in Japan.

Inam Butt remains one of the most successful and prolific wrestlers in Pakistan, having already won;

• Bronze at the 2014 Asian Beach Games,
• Gold medals at the 2016 South Asian Games and 2016 Asian Beach Games,
• Silver at the 2016 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship,
• Gold at the 2017 World Beach Wrestling Championships,
• Silver at the 2017 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship,
• Gold medal at the 2018 World Beach Wrestling Championships
• Silver medal at the 2019 World Beach Wrestling Championship

Unfortunately, one thing Inam has struggled with throughout his career is getting funds from the government. Representing Pakistan at Olympics without funds is a near-impossible task for him, which is why Shoaib Malik’s organization has started the fundraiser.

Inam Butt requires a total of Rs. 5 million in funding to cover training, food, travel and accommodation till next year. The breakdown is as follows:

Initially, Inam wants to target the 2019 World Beach Games. He is the only player from Pakistan to qualify for the multisport being held in the United States this year.

Following the world beach games, Inam will have his eyes set on Olympics and to ensure his qualification, Inam has three qualifying opportunities available. Ahead of participating in Qualifying tournament the champion wrestler plans a training camp in Ukraine for two months by the end of this year so that he can make himself ready for February’s qualification round. Ahead of Olympics, he will – for sure – need at least six months of training.
