Taking a page out of Punjab government’s book, the Sindh government has also decided to establish a Safe City Authority in the province.
On the directives of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, a committee has been formed to facilitate the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in major cities of the province.
The committee will include members from the ministries of Information Technology and Interior and the Police department.

Chairing a meeting at CM Office, Murad Ali Shah said that the proposal for a Safe City Project has been resonating ever since he was appointed as the Chief Minister.
He vowed to complete it at the earliest and directed to form the authority under the supervision of Chief Secretary.
The project would be first launched in Karachi and will be gradually expended to other major cities of Sindh.

The committee has been tasked to present a feasibility report in two weeks.
