The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has arrested three men from Karachi for harassing and blackmailing a woman through revenge porn.

The FIA officials said that they acted on a complaint registered by a woman whose name was concealed due to privacy reasons.

The officials explained that one of the accused befriended the woman on the internet. He took photos and recorded explicit videos with her. As per his statement, his friend (who is also in FIA’s custody) convinced him to blackmail the girl and extort money.

The woman refused and ended contact with him. The third accused then created her fake Facebook profile and started harassing the girl.

They threatened the complainant of uploading her compromising pictures and videos on Facebook.

An FIA team conducted a raid in Karachi and arrested two of the three suspects. The third accused was also arrested later on the identification of his accomplices.

FIA has registered a case against the accused under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
