The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has struck a deal with the traders’ associations after which they have agreed to call off the strike.
Small traders had called for a four-day strike starting from August 9 against FBR’s CNIC condition and call for sales tax registration.
According to chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi, the revenue board has accepted traders’ demand to push the deadline until the end of September.

“We have agreed for not taking any adverse actions against small traders on condition of CNIC till September 30, 2019,” Zaidi told media.
He maintained that the CNIC condition was postponed – not withdrawn – and full-fledged action will be launched against the non-compliers from 1st October.
FBR confirmed that the meeting held on Thursday discussed various issues.
