Federal ministers have lashed out at the Israel-funded NGO ‘UN Watch’ over its direct attacks on Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising voice against Islamophobic activities in Europe.
Last month, Prime Minister Khan strongly condemned the republication of blasphemous caricatures in France. In a letter to the Muslim countries, PM Khan had called for a collective strategy against the growing Islamophobia in non-Muslim states, especially Western states causing increasing concern amongst Muslims the world over.
This is followed by a November 5 statement, in which he said, “Blasphemy in the garb of freedom of expression is intolerable.”

Israel’s lobby NGO quoted his statement and tweeted:
Your presence on the U.N. Human Rights Council is intolerable.

The NGO also wrote to the UN Human Rights Council, disputing Khan’s remarks on Islamabaphobia and launched vicious attacks on him.
Indian newspapers, already supporting such NGOs, were quick to draw headlines out of it. Federal ministers were quick to respond to the pro-Israel lobby.
Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari, while speaking at a private news channel, said that the NGO’s direct attacks on the prime minister are intolerable.
UN Watch is a private NGO which is funded by Israel. The organization has become a tool of Israel and has nothing to do with the United Nations.

Mazari said Prime Minister Khan’s statement on blasphemous caricatures was noted across the world, including Muslim countries, which is why it elicited a reaction.
The prime minister’s statement carries weight and for the first time, such a strong stance was taken.
Earlier, in a series of tweets, she also exposed the so-called international NGO and its connections with Israel.
UN Watch is not part of the UNHRC. It is a Geneva-based NGO set up in 1993 by a former US PR to Geneva. Since 2001 it has been largely funded by the American Jewish Committee (AJC). That should explain it's selective agenda.

Ian Williams, who covered UN for years, writing in Guardian 4 April 2007 stated that UN Watch's main agenda was to target UN in general & UN Human Rights Council specifically for its alleged bias against Israel. We shd know where these INGOs are coming from!

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi questioned UN Watch’s bias against Muslims and its criminal silence over the killings of thousands of Muslims in Palestine, Kashmir, and the Middle East.
Are u for real?
Kashmir burns u stay silent! Palestine burns u stay silent!
Thousands killed in Middle East, not a sound from ur org! But u have the audacity to question the one nation that suffered the most? And question the one man who stands for human rights across the board? https://t.co/zwDTy826lI— Ali Haider Zaidi (@AliHZaidiPTI) November 8, 2020
The PM’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfi Bukhari, also reacted strongly.
Speaking up for selective justice is intolerable.
Staying quiet on human rights abuse in #Gaza is intolerable.
Your silence on #UN charter not getting implemented in #Kashmir is intolerable.
To be precise .. your double standards are intolerable.. infact despicable! https://t.co/QG1JlZaztm

Notably, a rise of Islamophobic and blasphemous activities in France under the government shelter and guise of ‘free speech’ has drawn worldwide criticism. Muslim and non-Muslim leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, have said that freedom of speech stops where hate speech begins.
