Vivo is launching yet another mid-range device dubbed the Y19. Design-wise, it is identical to the Vivo U3 that was announced in China last month.
The main difference between the two phones lies in their chipsets. The Y19 is powered by the Helio P65 as opposed to the U3’s Snapdragon 675. Other specifications are more or less the same.
It has a large 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch at the top for the selfie camera. It is an IPS LCD panel with a high screen to body ratio (84.4%) and 395 ppi pixel density.
The back has a triple-lens primary camera set up in a vertical layout with a physical fingerprint sensor beside it.
As mentioned before, the Vivo Y12 is powered by the 12nm Mediatek Helio P65 chipset. It has an octa-core processor and a Mali-G52 GPU. The GPU, alongside the ultra gaming mode, should deliver a highly immersive gaming experience.
The memory configuration is 8GB/128GB. There is no word on expandable storage yet.
The camera setup includes a 16MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera lens to aid with portrait shots. The AI-equipped primary camera can also suggest suitable poses for photos, which is odd, to say the least.
The 16-megapixel front camera is also equipped with AI that can beautify selfies. It can record videos in 1080p videos at 30 FPS.
There is a large 5000 mAh battery on the Y19 that should keep the phone going for about 3 days. It can also be used as a power bank since it’s equipped with reverse charging as well.
Vivo Y12 is currently only available in Vietnam and Thailand for $230. It should be arriving in Pakistan in the coming weeks.
