Xiaomi’s e-bikes are a fan favorite, especially in its local market. Their most recent crowdfunded e-bike is called ‘Molinks Electric Motorbike’ and can be customized according to the customer’s preferences. Specifications and price-wise, the bike lies in the upper mid-range bracket.

The Molinks Electric Motorbike is developed by Qianjiang Motorcycle and Thunder. Both the companies are pretty well-reputed in their respective markets.

Design

The e-bike is designed to be compact and elegant like all Xiaomi e-bikes. It has also won the German IF Design Award in 2018. The best part is, this Molinks Electric Motorbike can be customized, letting you choose the chassis color along with options for the leather seat.

It has a minimum ground clearance of 125 mm. Both tires have a 3-inch width and 10-inch diameter. The total weight of this e-bike is 69 kg and it can accommodate a maximum weight of 180 kg.

The scooter also features an LCD display on the handlebar. The LCD is responsible for displaying information about the battery, selected mode, speed, etc.

Internals

The basic version of the e-bike is powered by an 800W Bosch motor thanks to which the bike can attain a maximum speed of 45 km/h. It is also available in a dual-engine version with 1200W power, which can go up to 55 km/h.

Both versions have a maximum range of 120 km and come with 3 modes:

  • Normal mode: max speed 25 km/h
  • Sport mode: max speed 35 km/h
  • Extreme speed mode: max speed 45 km/h (55 km/h for dual engine model)

Apart from this, the bike features a ‘boost mode’ that maximizes its performance for 60 seconds. Before activating the second boost, the users have to wait for at least 10 seconds.

Battery and Pricing

The bike is equipped with two 60V/20AH Li-ion batteries that provide an impressive 120 km range in normal mode. In sport mode, the range is reduced to 110 km and in extreme speed mode, it falls to 90 km.

The basic version is available for €700 while the dual-engine version will set users back by €1170.
