Coronavirus vaccine registration for citizens aged 50 or more will start on 30 March, Federal Planning Minister, Asad Umar, has confirmed.
Taking to Twitter, the Planning Minister urged citizens aged 50 or above to get themselves registered once the registration process initiates.

Registration of those who are 50 plus for covid vaccination will be opened on march 30th. Registration of those who are 60 and older has already been open. Encourage everybody who is 50 plus to register when the registration is opened for them on 30th.

In order to register, citizens need to send their CNIC numbers on 1166 or visit the website of the National Immunization Management System (NIMS).
The Minister noted that the vaccination campaign for citizens above 60 years of age had started earlier this month while the immunization drive for frontline healthcare workers had begun last month after receiving 0.5 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine from China.

He added that National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had also granted a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination facility to citizens aged 70 years or above earlier this month.
On the other hand, Pakistan reported 4,368 new cases and 63 deaths due to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours as the third wave of the viral infection continues unabated across the country. Note that this is the first time Pakistan has reported over 4,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day since 2 July 2020.
