In a completely made-up story by a satire media outlet known as The Dependent, Khan was quoted as saying:
An estimated 660 million Manchester United fans have Harry Maguire as their captain and leader, can you imagine Maguire or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying, ‘sab se pehlay aap ne ghabraana nahi hai [first of all don’t you worry]’?.
Mirror UK mistook the satire post as a legitimate story and posted it on their website. The story and the post on Twitter have since been deleted.
The post caused a meltdown on Twitter. Let’s have a look at some of the tweets:

The Dependent, which in itself is a parody of a famous media outlet, The Independent, posts sarcastic stories regarding real-life situations. This isn’t the first time their posts have been taken seriously, and it probably won’t be the last.
