One of the well-known local bike manufacturers of Pakistan, Hi-Speed, announced a price hike for its entire bike lineup two days ago. In a startling development, however, it has been revealed that Hi-Speed has introduced a maximum price hike of Rs. 20,000 for one of its bikes.

Hi-Speed, owned by Raazy Motors (PVT) LTD, is not only known for selling locally produced bikes in Pakistan but also has a few respectable Chinese bikes in its lineup as well, that it imports as CBUs and sells in Pakistan. The bike maker has products ranging from 70cc to 200cc bikes in its lineup, as well as a few 3-wheeled loaders.

The new prices, as per the official circular, will be effective from February 1, 2021. Following is the official circular issued by the company, informing about the price increase:

As evident in the circular, Hi-Speed claims that the deteriorating economy and business activities are the key reason for the price increase. Whereas periodic analysis of the value of the Rupee against the Dollar suggests that the economy has stabilized to a significant degree after the initial lockdown was eased.

Another recent report also suggests that Atlas Honda will also be introducing a second price hike of the year within a month’s time. Although nothing has been confirmed by the company itself in this regard but knowing Honda Atlas, there is the likelihood that the price hikes may well happen.
