Honor is known for its all-rounder budget-friendly smartphones. The company, as a successor of Honor 10 Lite launched last year, has unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone under the moniker ‘Honor 20 Lite Youth Edition’.

The smartphone boasts impressive specifications including a unique two-toned gradient on the back that was teased last week.

Design and Display

Design-wise, Honor 20 Lite Youth Edition features a glossy back with two-tone gradients in three color variants namely Magic Night Black (single tone), Blue Water Jade and Icelandic Fantasy. The triple sensor rear camera is vertically stacked on the top left and the fingerprint sensor is housed inside the display.

Honor 20 Lite Youth Edition is built around a 6.3-inch waterdrop notch OLED display with FHD+ (1080p) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It comes with TUV Rheinland certification for blue light filtering and supports always-on display (AOD) and DCI-P3 wide color gamut.

Internal and Storage

Internally, the smartphone is driven by Kirin 710F SoC with 4 GB, 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB built-in storage. The storage can be expanded via a dedicated SD card slot. The smartphone also features GPU Turbo 3.0, Ark Compiler and Huawei’s EROFS file system.

On the software front, Honor 20 Lite Youth Edition runs on EMUI 9.1.1 skinned Android 9 Pie OS.

Cameras

At the back, the smartphone features a triple sensor camera with a 48 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP depth sensor. The camera supports AI scene recognition, portrait mode, night scene mode, etc.

For selfies, the Honor 20 Lite sports a 16 MP single sensor shooter with AI scene recognition.

Battery and Pricing

This mid-ranger is powered a 4000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging.

As far as the storage variants are concerned, the Honor 20 Lite comes with four variants:

  • 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage ~$212
  • 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage ~$240
  • 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage ~$268

The smartphone is currently available for pre-order and will go on sale by 25th October. The base variant, however, will be available after 11th November.
