As per Huawei’s tradition, Huawei has teamed up with Porsche Design again to release an elite edition of its long-awaited Mate 30 Pro. The smartphone is identical to the Mate 30 Pro in terms of specifications, but its luxurious design is what gives it the edge. Sporting a sleek and lavish design, this is the fifth Porsche phone from Huawei.

Design and Display

The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 30 RS, like all the other Huawei smartphones released under its collaboration with Porsche, has a lavish, hand-crafted leather back, and a vertical glass panel in the center where the quad sensor camera setup sits. This edition of the smartphone is available only in black and red colors.

The display called ‘Horizon Display’ is a 6.53-inch OLED panel with 1176 x 2400 pixels resolution and 88-degree curves on each side.

Internal and Storage

As for the internals, the smartphone is powered by a Kirin 990 chipset with 5G support. The chipset is combined with 12 GB of RAM, 4 GB more than the vanilla Mate 30 Pro. The onboard storage has been bumped up to 512 GB as well. If that is still not enough, it still has an external SD card slot.

Software-wise, this heavily priced smartphone runs on Android 10 topped with EMUI 10.

Cameras

The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 30 RS features a Quad-sensor rear camera with a 40 MP Cine-Camera main sensor that sits behind an f/1.8 lens accompanied by another 40 MP ‘Super sensing’ sensors, an 8 MP Telephoto Lens and a 3D depth sensor. The camera supports autofocus and Huawei’s AI Image Stabilization.

For selfies, the smartphone is equipped with a 32 MP camera in the notch at the front. For face unlock, the smartphone also features a 3D sensor at the front.

Battery and Pricing

The smartphone boasts a 4500 mAh battery with 40W fast charging support and 27W wireless charging support.

The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 30 RS, as mentioned, will be available at an extremely hefty price tag of €2,095. As far as the availability is concerned, Huawei has not specified a date.
