Despite the pressure from the US-China trade war, Huawei’s Q3 financial results show that the company is fairing quite well. The Chinese tech giant generated a total revenue (Q1-Q3 period) of around $86 billion, which is an increase of 24.4 % compared to last year.
As for smartphone shipments, the company managed to ship 185 million units throughout the first three quarters. This is an increase of 26% as compared to the previous year.
Huawei did not provide exact numbers for smartphone shipments in Q3 2019, but estimated reports put the figure at 67 million units. This is a significant number considering that the company’s shipments have remained flat around 57 million in the past quarters.
This represents a year-on-year increase of 13.5%, and it is also the first time Huawei has shown an improvement in smartphone shipments after the US trade ban.
In the report, Huawei also boasts how its commercial deployment of 5G networks around the world has sped up. To date, the company has signed over 60 commercial contracts for 5G and has shipped more than 400,000 5G Massive MIMO Active Antenna Units (AAUs) globally.
Additionally, more than 700 cities and 220 of the “Fortune 500” companies have selected Huawei as their partner for digital transformation.
Overall, the results clearly show how Huawei is undeterred despite battling the US Government.
