After distributing their first wave of 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors in 2020, Intel has decided to kick things up a notch by integrating the 11th Gen technology into machines for enhancing performance.

For starters, Intel put an end to the rumor-mill revolving around heterogeneous integration of ARM’s big.LITTLE  to boost the performance of their standard computing chipsets.

At the CES 2021 virtual conference, Intel teased its high-performing Tiger Lake 35W and 45W processors for its 11th Gen laptops. The two components look somewhat identical to the 15W/35W Tiger Lake variants but can hit over 5GHz clock speeds when boosted to 35W/45W variants.

The 11th Gen CPUs are equipped with an 8-core processing build and feature Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6/6E, and PCIe Gen 4 to allow dedicated GPUs to set a new standard for higher gaming performance.

It is worth mentioning that desktop enthusiasts loved how Intel offered a little sneak-peak into their Rocket Lake Core i9-11900K CPU supporting PCIe 4.0 and bumping up the IPC (instructions per cycle) by 19 percent, potentially dethroning AMD as the ultimate gaming king.

The other 10nm Jasper Lake chipsets will support entry-level devices, particularly those systems used for educational purposes. Pentium Silver and Celeron lineups are based on this new hardware and promise a 35 percent performance boost in app-usage and 78 percent improvement in graphics.

In the concluding session of the virtual conference, Intel announced a business-centric 11th Gen Tiger Lake lineup – vPro, and Evo vPro. The second one is a vPro integrated with Intel’s Evo platform. As advertised, this lineup offers advanced security and relevant business features as other Intel processors.

According to Intel, their new platform Alder Lake offers the 11th Gen hardware build-up, which is a tad bit similar to the ARM cluster. It combines the aspects of high-performance and high-efficiency, which, according to Intel, will form the basis of future desktop and notebook processors.

The company does not intend to target mobile platforms, with most of its focus revolving primarily around desktop integrations for now. As advertised, the chips are expected to hit the market after June 2021, and Intel suggests the new Alder Lake chips will be part of the 12th Gen Intel processors scheduled for production next year.

Rumors suggest these products will hit local markets within the next few months, with the 11h Gen Alder Lake platform to arrive sometime after July 2021.
