Islamabad High Court (IHC) has observed that the issue of fees charged by private schools in Islamabad will be decided as per the written order from the Supreme Court (SC), which would remove any perceived discrepancies.
The IHC made the observation while hearing an appeal filed by the Private Schools Association Islamabad (PSAI) against the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA).

The counsel of PEIRA stated that the private schools should continue to charge the same fees as before until a detailed version of the top court’s verdict on the case is released. PEIRA maintained that if the schools charge the same fee as before, they will not take any action against them.
The court asked PSAI’s counsel to discuss the private schools regulator’s offer with his clients. The counsel for PSAI contended that the court should require a detailed reply from the law ministry on the apex court’s order. He argued that the top court’s order does not apply to Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
However, PIERA’s counsel said that the petition is still maintainable. The court observed that it can take a decision only after the detailed written verdict of the apex court is released.
The case has been adjourned till July 30.
