Motorola has been launching smartphones back to back in India for the last few months. The latest one is an entry-level smartphone that belongs to Motorola’s One lineup. However, contrary to what the name suggests, the smartphone is not released as a part of the Android One series and is one of the most affordable smartphones on the market.

The Motorola One Macro one is targeted at amateur photographers, it lets you shoot from as close as 2cm from the subject, providing higher details as compared to regular smartphone cameras.

Design and Display

Motorola One Macro has glamourous aesthetics. The back features a glossy glass finish with the triple sensor Macro lens camera vertically stacked at the top left.

At the front, the smartphone features a 6.2-inch LCD display with HD+ (720p) resolution. The display has an ~81.3 percent screen to body ratio, 19:9 aspect ratio, and 270 ppi pixel density.

Internal and storage

The phone features a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset at the helm joined by 4 GB RAM and 64 GB built-in storage. The storage is expandable via a memory card slot.

On the software front, the Motorola One Macro runs on Android 9.0 Pie and will receive an upgrade to Android 10 soon, along with 2 years of security patches.

Cameras

Moving on to the most interesting feature of this entry-level smartphone, its camera. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone’s Macro camera can focus from as close as 2 cm. The Macro lens is a 2 MP sensor with 1.75µm pixels.

For basic mobile phone photography, the smartphone comes with a 13 MP main sensor joined by a 2 MP depth sensor. The camera features a Laser AF system for better focusing abilities.

At the front, the Motorola One Macro comes with an 8 MP single sensor sitting behind an f/2.2 lens for selfies.

Battery and Pricing

The smartphone is driven by a 4000 mAh battery backed by 10W charging over a USB Type-C port. The company claims that the battery can last for about two days with casual use.

Motorola One Macro will be available for sale by 12th October and will set the users back by $140.
