The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to offer coronavirus vaccination to all the participants of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6, including players and officials, amid a breach of the bio-secure bubble.
The decision was made after three more players of two different franchises returned positive tests on Wednesday, taking the tally to seven. It is in line with the board’s care policy and to ensure the safety of all participants of the league during the event, which concludes on March 22.
With this move, the PCB will become the first cricket board to use vaccines to protect players against the coronavirus.

The vaccination process of all those inside the bio-secure bubble will begin today (Thursday). However, it will solely be every individual’s call whether or not they want to get the doses.
The cricket board has been in discussion with the federal and provincial government officials regarding the national cricket team’s international engagements and the significance, reputation, integrity, and credibility of the league.
Commenting on the development, Wasim Khan said:
The PCB takes the health, safety, and wellbeing of its players and officials very seriously. In line with our duty of care policy, we have acquired a small allocation of SARS-Coronavirus Vaccine, which will be offered to all those inside the bio-secure environment created for the Pakistan Super League 6.
