Pakistani Rupee opened the week with a loss of 21 paisas against the US Dollar but stood firm on the second day of the week.
PKR posted a marginal gain of 0.1 paisa against the greenback in the interbank currency market on Tuesday.

PKR closed at Rs. 160.374 to the USD on Tuesday (January 12), as compared to Rs. 160.389 to the USD on Monday, which was down from Rs. 160.17 on Friday.
Against most other major currencies, PKR has been gaining for the most part since the beginning of the current calendar year. On Monday, PKR posted gains against the Euro, GBP, Australian Dollar, and Canadian Dollar. On Tuesday, however, PKR only managed to gain against the Euro and Canadian Dollar.
PKR gained 48 paisas to the Euro on Tuesday after gaining 37 paisas on Monday, which came after a notable jump of Rs. 1.04 on Friday.

PKR also gained 2 paisas to the CAD on Tuesday, which came after a gain of 48 paisas on Monday. This was a reversal on a loss of 6 paisas to the CAD on Friday.
Against GBP, PKR’s movement today was deteriorated 60 paisas after gaining 87 paisas yesterday and gaining 15 paisas on Friday. Against the AUD, today’s loss for PKR was 16 paisas after yesterday’s improvement of 78 paisas and 3 paisas gain of Friday.
PKR posted a gain of less than a paisa against the UAE Dirham and the Saudi Riyal on Tuesday, after losing five paisas to both on Monday.
