The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ruled that the Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) of the area where the incident of the dog bite is reported will be suspended from the assembly.

The harsh remarks came from Justice Aftab Ahmed during Wednesday’s hearing of a petition filed by a citizen, Faheem Ahmed, against the increase of stray and mad dogs.

The prosecutor argued that an MPA has nothing to do with stray dog bites, to which the judge said that they know how the MPAs receive cuts from the vaccine funds.

“Don’t get us started, we know how these MPAs receive a commission in funds from concerned officers,” Justice Aftab said, adding that the MPAs are duty-bound to protect their people.

The honorable judge remarked that the MPA of the place where the dog bite incident took place would not be able to vote in the Senate elections.

During the hearing at SHC’s Sukkur bench, the officers presented reports on the implementation of the court’s order, to which the court expressed dissatisfaction and adjourned the hearing till March 16.
