The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has just gone official. It comes in with a revamped compact design, multiples sizes and more.

The overhauled One UI has returned with a rotating bezel, but now as a “digital option”. It works just like the physical rotating bezel of the normal Galaxy Watch, but now with a touch sensor around the edges of the dial for rotating it. This allows for maximum screen real estate around your wrist.

There are two sizes with 40mm and 44mm options – and two different styles as well. You can either go with the lightweight aluminum build or you can choose the high-end stainless steel variant which has a premium leather strap. The aluminum variant, on the other hand, has a Fluoroelastomer (FKM) wrist strap. Both the bands are 20mm long.

In the battery compartment, you have a 247mAh cell in the 40mm variant and a 340mAh battery for the 44mm size. Samsung’s latest edition of the One UI should make sure the watch lasts for a couple of days.

The company has doubled the number of sensors in the watch for faster and more accurate heart rate tracking. It can now also use a sensor in a button to take an ECG. The watch is oriented towards fitness but also helps with wellness and sleep.

The watch has an IP68 water resistance rating, which means you can take it with you for a swim or keep it on while showering or bathing. The dial of the watch has Gorilla Glass DX+ for protection.

Both the variants have Super AMOLED displays with 360 x 360px screen resolution. The watch is powered by the company’s in-house Exynos 9110 chip with 768MB of RAM.

Support for LTE is exclusive to the premium stainless steel version. The premium variant also has more RAM (1.5GB).

Samsung has enhanced social media experience on the watch too. You can read and reply to tweets and even watch videos on YouTube. There’s also voice activation in 16 different languages.

There’s a variety of color schemes to choose from in both variants. You can even color coordinate the watch with your clothes to match it with your outfit. Just take a snap of your outfit using the MyStyle app and you’re good to go.

Pre-orders for the watch will start from September 6 and you will have to wait until the 26th of September to receive yours. The base version will cost you $280, whereas the premium stainless steel version will go for $300.
